More than stone & wood
Kipi, built at an altitude of 800 m, named after the orchards and flowers of traditional houses. Bagiotikos (a tributary of the Vikos), which passes through the village, takes care of their watering. Kipi are located in the heart of Central Zagori, where the Mitsikeli and Tymfi Mountains of northern Pindos meet, 39 km from Ioannina. The village of about 70 inhabitants has stone fountains and cobbled streets, a tall bell tower with a clock in the courtyard of the church of Agios Nikolaos, as well as the folklore museum “Agapios Tolis”
Near the Kipi are the most beautiful bridges of Zagori, such as Kontodimos at the entrance of the village, within walking distance of the famous bridge of Kokkori (or Noutsou), built in 1750, and the three-arched Kalogeriko of 1748, also known as the “moving caterpillar”.

The best way to explore this place is to walk around its paths. Following them will meet cobbled streets, stone stairs carved into the steep slopes and impressive bridges that connect the banks of rivers and streams, elements that testify to the culture and wealth of the area. Those who love hiking follow the path that leads from Kipi to the neighboring Koukouli, which together with Dilofo are two very charming and quiet villages that maintain the aura of earlier times. Visit them! Tired walkers head to Vikos Gorge for an all-day getaway, which you can combine with other activities, such as mushroom picking.
